St. Martin Location Manager
Dave grew up on a small dairy farm about three miles north of St. Martin. His dad used to do business at the local cooperative. So, when Dave graduated from high school taking a job at the co-op was a natural fit for someone who enjoyed working with farmers. He started out driving truck, then became a mill worker making feed before moving into the office. Dave has since then served in several capacities to include general management and most recently location management for St. Martin.
Growing up on a farm, as well as the experience he gained working with local growers at the cooperative, has given him keen insight into the challenges that growers face from day-to-day and season-to-season. Being a “local kid”, Dave also has a good understanding of his customers and their unique operations, which helps him to deliver solutions and advice that best meets their needs.
Dave and his wife Laurie have four children, two boys and two girls, and are proud grandparents of two. In his spare time, he enjoys watching his kids play sports, as well as hunting and fishing.
Feed Sales Coordinator / Location Manager
Lon grew up on a farm in central Minnesota. They raised beef and swine, and grew crops. He realized early on that being in the country and working outdoors was what he wanted to do. He earned a two year agribusiness degree from Willmar Vo-Tech College, and he has spent the past 30 years working in the agriculture industry. Lon currently lives on an 80- acre hobby farm with his family where he raises beef steers and a few horses.
Every grower is different. So it is important to listen to them and understand their total operation in order to help them find the best solution.
That practical experience helps Lon to relate to customers. He understands the challenge growers face every day when balancing income and expenses. He is an important part of the Centra Sota team. He is working with growers to deliver real solutions in their day-to-day operations. For many growers, that means finding new ways to increase their production—and their profitability.
Sales Marketing Manager
My career in the feed and grain business began in 1978 when I started with Farmers Union GTA, a cooperative based in St. Paul. (Yes, we still farmed with tractors - even back then!) Since that time I have had several positions within the cooperative system, as well as the private agribusiness sector with Hubbard Feeds and ADM
n my current position with Centra Sota, I manage the Feed Marketing at our Albany Feed Mill, and I also am heavily involved in feed formulation and pricing. I can contract feed and grain ingredients for future delivery and work with all locations on all sales and marketing issues.
My wife Sandy and I have two children, two grandchildren, three cats and two granddogs. (If we want to see the grandkids, we have to put up with the granddogs.) Both families live in the Twin Cities area, and we are fortunate to see them quite often.
Feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions. We would love a chance to show you what we can do. Give me a call and let's talk....
