Corn Planting Following Spring Applied Anhydrous Ammonia

As the April days have clicked by with minimal field activity, the question that is asked many times is, "How soon can I plant my corn after I apply anhydrous ammonia?" The answer of course is, "Well, that depends."

Keeping Traits Straight

As corn herbicide traits constantly become more complicated, it becomes more important to verify that every bag of seed corn, especially the refuge bags, matches your planned herbicide application. Various companies are marketing seed corn that is Roundup Ready® and LibertyLink® in combination with insect protection. It is wise to verify that every bag ordered is tolerant to the herbicide that you plan to spray. Read more.

Every chemical meeting I have ever attended and every representative that you visit with are great at promising you the world in regards to their product and its performance on your farm. The other common denominator is that they will always include in any discussion, "read and follow the label". Now that sounds like a no-brainer, but I think a timely reminder here on the Atrazine set-back requirements is very appropriate. Read more.
