Update On Late Emerging Plants

Plants that emerged late were flagged so they could be kept track of throughout the season. Plants that were flagged vary from being behind a few inches in height , to having a thin stature, to looking very similar to plants with average emergence. 

These plants were late emergers: 






Plants with average to early emergence are more even in height, similar in development and have similar ear size.
These plants all emerged around the same time: 






The ear on the left was a late emerger, while the ear on the right was an early emerger. The smaller ear is still pollinating. The bigger ear has already polinated and is much further ahead.
