Central MN Conservation Partnership

The Central MN Conservation Partnership is a collaborative effort led by Centra Sota Cooperative to help farmers improve groundwater quality through practical conservation practices. Working alongside the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and local conservation partners, the program provides technical assistance, education, and funding support to promote irrigation water management, efficient nitrogen use, and long-term farm sustainability in Central Minnesota.

The Central MN Conservation Partnership helps connect farmers with available internal, local, state, and federal cost-share opportunities that support conservation and water quality improvements. Potential cost-share opportunities may include:

  • Cover crops

  • Nutrient management planning

  • Soil Grid Testing

  • Irrigation water management improvements

  • Soil nitrate/moisture monitoring technology

    • Irrigation and Dryland Opportunities

  • Manure management improvements

  • Reduced nitrogen application practices

  • Soil health practices

  • Conservation crop rotations

  • Perennial plantings

  • Water quality and groundwater protection practices

  • MAWQCP certification support

  • NRCS EQIP and other conservation programs

  • SWCD conservation funding programs

The partnership works with farmers to identify eligible practices, coordinate funding opportunities, and assist with applications and implementation planning to help reduce out-of-pocket costs for conservation improvements.
