It's been a while since our last article, but we're glad to be sharing another of our 100-year donations! As you might be able to tell from our other donation stories, at Centra Sota, we love the FFA. Our St. Martin location selected two local FFA chapters - Paynesville and Albany. With 10,000 members in Minnesota alone, FFA has a tremendous impact on kids throughout the state, as well as the future of agriculture.
Like many FFA chapters, Albany FFA members participate in a variety of activities. They are actively involved in the Stearns County Fair in a variety of ways, as well as chapter activities to grow membership and help foster better team spirit. They even recently hosted an Ag-Olympics event in March of this year, and the loser had to kiss a calf! (The calf looks pretty cute to us though!) See more pictures on their Facebook page.
The Paynesville FFA also has a very active chapter! They host an annual Plot Day to showcase agriculture in their community. Staffed and attended by volunteers, alumni, supporters, and students, the event offers demonstrations, educational speakers, and games. They also sell the sweet corn they grow for the event as a fundraiser. Check out their Facebook page to see more.
